February Favourites!

Here's some of the things I've been loving this month!

Radox 'Energise' Shower Gel: I've always used Radox shower gels but this one i'd never tried before. I love the key lime and peppermint combination as it feels super refreshing on my skin and really helps wake me up in the morning.

Nivea 'Pearl & Beauty' antiperspirant: I normally have a couple of different deodorants on the go, as I tend to bulk buy when they're on offer and then can't decide which to use first! But this one I have used almost everyday in favour of my others this month; and even my boyfriend has commented on how nice it smells!

Seventeen 'Phwoarr Paint (fair)': I suffer a fair bit with dark circles and am always on the look out for something that covers them up as much as possible, and I think this one is probably the best one i've used. With it being described as 'heavy duty' I was worried about it creasing under the eyes but i've had no problems at all (and I do apply quite a lot as well). It brightens up my eyes so much, and it's a perfect match to my skin tone.

MeMeMe Eye pencil in Clay: I got this in my January Glossybox and i've been using it everyday this month. I've always found that brown shades look better on me than black when it comes to eyeliner. This one is really soft, glides on well and doesn't smudge at all.

Sally Hansen 'Plumping Lip Primer': I've been using this for a while now and I just love it. It never leaves my handbag. Anything I put on my lips seems to have disappeared after an hour or so, but I noticed such a difference with this primer, my lipstick stays on for way longer with it. The only downside is that I haven't really noticed my lips being any more plumped, but I'm not too fussed about that anyway.

LipMonthly: February!

So in my February LipMonthly Bag I received:

-Be a Bombshell Lipgloss in shade 'Hooked'

-So Susan Lip Dome 'Plumping Lip Tint' in shade Blackcurrant

-Jelly Pong Pong Supermodel Stain (Lip & Cheek pomade)

- MMU Cargo Eye Shadow in shade Green Bay

L- Be a Bombshell Lipgloss. R- So Susan Lip Dome

The lipgloss and lip tint are quite similar in shade, although the tint is slightly darker. So far I am loving both of these; the Lip gloss is a good formula, not too sticky and it lasts for a good few hours before it wears off.
And the lip Tint is just so soft, it glides onto the lips so easily and has a really even finish. My lips can get quite cracked (especially during winter) so I was very surprised to see how smooth it looked, as that almost usually never happens!

The eyeshadow looks interesting, I don't think I even own a khaki shade eyeshadow and I'm not sure how it will look, but it does seem like a fairly subtle shade so hopefully it won't look too garish!

The one product that I wasn't too enthusiastic about was the Jelly Pong Pong set of 4 mini Lip/Cheek stains. I think this is because I got one very similar in my February Glossybox so I felt a bit underwhelmed getting this one too. But it is so compact and I can just throw it in my bag and have my pick of 4 shades which is great when i'm in an indecisive mood!

Budget Make-Up Brushes: eBay!

All of my Make-Up brushes were looking a little run down and I was in desperate need for some new ones...Real Techniques we're my first choice, but as i'm on a budget I decided instead to go to eBay in search of some cheaper alternatives.

I came across this set of White and Gold 10 brushes for just £7.90!

With this I got 5 small thin brushes:

Precision Tapered: For applying concealer in harder to reach areas such as around the eyes and nose & chin.

Precision Round: Applying eye shadow base or primer onto the lid.

Precision Flat: Stipple concealer on sun spots, blemishes, and other small imperfections.

Precision Flat Angled: Use for precise application of concealer around the face.

Precision Angled: For apply foundation/ concealer to tight areas such as the sides of the nose and the hollows of the cheeks.

And I also got 5 large thicker Brushes:

Tapered Kabuki: Apply cream and liquid foundations onto the harder to reach contours of the face.

Round Kabuki: For blending mineral powders onto the skin.

Angled Kabuki: To buff cream blush or bronzer onto the skin.

Flat Kabuki: Application of liquid or cream products to flat areas of the face such as the forehead and cheeks.

Flat Angled Kabuki: Blends foundation easily onto hard to reach areas of the face.

I've been using these for about a week now, and i'm really impressed. I didn't expect much for how cheap they are, but they are pretty good quality and i've not had a problem with them so far!

Glossybox: February 2015

This month's Glossybox is a Valentine's themed 'Love Edition' box.
I got all full sized products this month, and this is what I received:

MARSK Mineral EyeShadow: Shade 'Fifty Shades.
I've never tried a mineral eye shadow before, as I think it will be quite messy? But i'm willing to give it a good go!

Royal Aphthic: Tinties
This has got to be the cutest lip balm ever! And the first thing I noticed is that is smells like sweets (always a winner!)

So Susan Rose Quartet Lip & Cheek Palette
This has 4 mini pink/ nude shades suitable for both cheeks and lips. I think i'd probably use the top two for cheeks and the bottom two for lips (see photo) as I don;'t think I suit brighter pinks on my lips.

Got2be All star 10 in 1 styling
Apparently this will solve all my hair problems at once, so i'm looking forward to seeing if it does what it says as most of the products i've tried like this haven't done much!

Wilkinson Sword: Hydro Silk Razor.
I've been meaning to buy a new razor for a while, so it was a great surprise so get this in with all the lovely beauty items!

I also got a little packet of Love Heart sweets (..which my boyfriend gave me one of before swiftly stuffing the rest in his mouth all at once)

Mini Boots Haul!

There's a couple of things that I've been wanting to try for ages now so I popped into boots yesterday and picked up a couple of treats for myself!

First was the Seventeen Define & Conquer Contour kit.
I've read so many good reviews on this so I'm really excited to try it!

There was a 'buy on get the second half price' offer on Seventeen products so I couldn't resist picking up something else!
I do often get quite bad dark circle under my eyes and I've been looking for a good, but cheap, heavy duty concealer. The Seventeen 'Phwoarr Paint' seems like it will do the trick.

Lastly, I've been needing a new foundation and so many people have been raving about the Rimmel Wake me Up foundation and I'm surprised I haven't tried it yet! I think I'll like the 'dewy' look it's supposed to give although I do get quite oily skin around my nose though so I hope it doesn't make my face too shiny.

January Favourites!

So the first thing I've been loving this month is the Soap & Glory Endless Glove Hand Cream.
My hands get so dry from working in a kitchen, and the cold winter weather really isn't helping but i've been using this generously every night and its really helped lock the moisture into my hands.

My second favourite is the No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Night Cream. I have used night creams in the past, but have often found them leaving my skin a bit sticky? And I hate that feeling going to bed, and feeling all moist when you wake up! But this is the first one I've tried that actually hasn't done that. It's such a light moisturiser and sinks right into the skin.

My last beauty Favourite is the Naked Lips Organic Lip Balm which I got in my January Glossybox. It's all natural ingredients for a start, which I love. It tastes a-mazing. Like seriously amazing! And I've felt a real difference in the dryness of my lips; and they haven't been cracking as much since I started using it.

My favourite book of this month is without a doubt 'Vincent' a graphic novel by Barbara Stok. I absolutely love Van Gogh, he's probably my favourite artist, and this book illustrates the period of time he spent in France. I just love the way the illustration style changes to convey his different mental states; (like when he is depressed he is shown with dots around him.)

Finally, I have been playing the new Fall Out Boy album 'American Beauty/ American Psycho' non stop since it was released. My favourite tracks are 'Uma Thurman', 'Fourth of July' and especially 'Immortals' as it was written for the new Disney film Big Hero 6, which I loved so much. I would urge everyone to go and see it!
