September Glossybox: Review

Firstly, I have to say I am LOVING the design of this months box. Karen Millen. wow.

Vitchy: Night Detox and Hydrating care.
- My first thought when using these was that they smells reallyyy nice! I only applied the hydrating cream to the dry areas of my face and stayed away from the oily parts, and it have my face a lovely dewy glow.
The night cream I applied all over but only a small amount and I found it a bit sticky at first but then it settled into my skin alright.

L'Oreal Professionnel: Mythic Masque
- I didn't think this would be that good but Ive tried it once and I've gotta say I was quite impressed. It gives my hair a nice glow and the amazing smell lasts for ages. Although I never normally have a great deal of time when I'm washing my hair so I don't think I'll be using this all that often. But it's nice to have for when I feel like pampering myself.

SkinPrep: Enzyme and Peeling Gel and Dark Circle Eraser Cream
- As you can see on the photo, I used the dark circle cream literally as soon as I opened the box. I've been working extra long hours recently and have been meaning to buy something for my tired eyes but just haven't got round to it yet.
So when this arrived, I was so excited. It feels so nice and refreshing on the skin, if you put it in the fridge before using it. It's great in the early mornings.
- The peeling gel on the other hand, I'm not a massive fan of. It really smells awful and I couldn't leave it on my face for too long it was that bad. And after you wash it off it left my skin a kind of sticky texture or a while which I really did not enjoy. It did go away and my blemishes do look a bit clearer so that's something but I don't think I'll ever purchase it.

ModelCo: More Brows fibre gel
- I am liking this a lot. This really makes my eyebrows stand out and look fuller. I have been teaming it with the shaping pencil side from the Soap and Glory Archery kit just to fill in any little gaps and it does make my brows look more defined.

Nails inc: Matte Top Coat
- This is probably my favourite item from this months box. I have been wanting a matte top coat polish for ages, and was about to buy the Barry M one.

I have used it over the Yves Rocher pink polish from the August box, and I think it looks so nice as matte. It has really good staying power and doesn't chip easily (which for me is a miracle, usually after an hour I've got chips on my nails) this one I've had on for 2 days and had a shower and there is only tiny bits coming off on the edges of my nails.

Get ready with me: Morning/Evening Routine

I start the day washing my face with warm water and cleansing it with the Simple Kind to Skin foaming Cleanser.
Then, I lightly dab a small amount of the Simple Age Resisting eye cream under my eyes.

I will then apply the Boots Botanics shine away cream onto my nose and oily areas and then just standard e45 moisturiser to the rest of my face before I put my make up on.

In the evening I alternate between using the Simple Cleanser and Simple Oil balancing exfoliating wash to remove my make up. (I tend to only use the exfoliating wash maybe 3 times a week)
And then once a week I will use the no7 Beautiful Skin Purifying mask afterwards.

After this I will cleanse my face with toner.
Then I will apply the Simple Eye cream, the same as in the morning and then when this is settled into the skin, I will use the Simple Night Moisturiser, but keeping it to very small amounts around my oily areas.

My Barry M Nail Paint collection

I have been collecting Barry M nail varnishes for a good 6/7 years. If I'm ever in the mood to buy a new nail varnish they're always my 'go-to' brand.

This is the collection I currently own, it used to be larger but I have just thrown out some old ones.

My favourites of these is the Matte shade. It looks so amazing and has really good staying power. I bought this as soon as it was released last year and I'm pretty sure i used it continuously until after Christmas.

Unfortunately I'm not a huge fan of the Gelly range. I think these are the knew I've used the least, especially the navy shade. I think it might just be me, but I find that they actually chip a lot easier than the normal nail paint? Which is exactly the opposite of what it's advertised to do?

Review: No7 Beautiful Skin Purifying Mask

I cannot even describe how much I love this! I'd heard good things about it before but I thought at £17 it was a little pricey, so when I got a £5 off voucher from Boots a while ago I thought I'd give it a shot.

Its a thermal face mask and it heats up when it comes into contact with the water in your skin. For me, it's not that bad and doesn't heat up too much although I've read from others that it really burns their skin, so I suppose I've just got lucky and it's different for everyone!

After applying it into your skin it says to leave it on for around 5 mins (but obviously if it's really hot don't leave it on and let it burn your face!)
The only negative thing about it is that it is quite hard to clean off. I have to use a flannel to wash of the last bits as they never seem to budge.
But afterwards I swear it leaves my skin the softest it's ever been, it's so amazing! And in my oily areas especially it keeps the oil at bay for a good few days, so I tend to only use it maybe twice a week?

I'd give it a solid 9/10.

August Glossybox Review

'Rose Berry Hand cream' - smells amazing! And has a nice texture, although can be a tad greasy?

'Philip Kingsley Elasticizer' - have only used this once so far and tbh I haven't noticed it doing much difference? Maybe I need to use it more before I make a fuller judgement.

'Yves Rocher nail varnish' - I really really like this. I've never been a massive fan of pink but this is the loveliest shade and looks so nice on. And I don't think it's just a summer colour it will blend really well with the shades of my autumn clothes aswell, so I'll be using it for a good while.

Glossybox highlighter- This is probably the product I've used the most so far, it suits my skin tone so well and I love the dewy shimmery glow it gives my skin.

Perfume- I only have ever used sweet smelling scents, but this is really nice. I'd probably use it as more of an evening scent and it has a really good saying power. It lasts pretty much all day and I only put a tiny bit on.

Lastly, the cuticle cream- to be honest, this is probably the only item that I don't think I'll use an awful lot. I've just never been bothered too much with nail maintenance but we'll see. Maybe this will change my ways.

August favourites!

First on my list of favourites for this month is the Body Shop 'Deep Sleep Dreamy Body Mist'.
For someone who works long, and late, hours I've been finding it difficult to wind down after work. I found this a few weeks ago and it has been a godsend. The instructions say to spray it onto your clothes (but I spray it on my duvet and pillows) It contains camomile and essential oils and smells so amazing. As soon as I crawl into bed I feel instantly soothed and drift off to sleep so easily.

The next one on my list is the Soap & Glory 'Archery brow tint & precision shaping pencil' it's just so easy to use and takes 2 seconds which is great when you're in a rush!

Next is the Simple 'oil balancing exfoliating wash'
I have combination skin (oily t-zone, oily nose, dry cheeks) I've been using this 2/3 times a week and have noticed a difference on my oily areas and my skin feels smooth all day.

Lastly is the Boots Botanics 'Mattifying gel-cream Shine Away'
I have been applying this daily in the morning just around my nose and extra oily areas and I'm starting to notice a difference after a couple of weeks. You only need a tiny bit aswell so it will last for absolutely ages and works as a great base for your foundation.
